Researchers at the University of California San Francisco San Benioff Children’s Hospital have discovered an innovative way to see if some patients respond to chemotherapy before treatment begins.
As a result of a TeamConnor Childhood Cancer Foundation Grant awarded in 2013, the research team identified when specific biomarkers are present and a specific drug is administered together, leukemia cells are eliminated while barely effecting normal cells. These findings are going to be used as front line treatment for pediatric patients with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
TeamConnor is proud to be the grantor of this program that’s achieving remarkable results!
